Vienna, September 16, 2013: As of October 1, 2013 several personnel changes will take place in the management boards of two subsidiaries of the Telekom Austria Group: Thanasis Katsiroumpas (51), hitherto CEO of Vip mobile in the Republic of Serbia, will take over as CEO of Mobiltel in Bulgaria at the beginning of October and, in his new capacity, he will also be responsible for the marketing agenda. The management board of the Bulgarian subsidiary will therefore be reduced from four to three members.

The CEO of Mobiltel, Andreas Maierhofer, is returning to Austria after 10 years in executive management positions abroad and, therefore, decided not to extend his expiring contract. Since the new CEO Katsiroumpas will have overall responsibility for the marketing agenda, former CMO Martin Lippautz will also leave the company and the Telekom Austria Group at his own request. Following the departure of Thanasis Katsiroumpas, Andreas Graf, CFO of Vip mobile in the Republic of Serbia, is appointed as interim CEO/CMO of the company.

“Bulgaria is currently the most difficult market within the Telekom Austria Group. With Thanasis Katsiroumpas we were able to recruit an excellent expert on the Bulgarian market and one of the most experienced telecom top managers within the Group for this challenging task,” said Hannes Ametsreiter, CEO of the Telekom Austria Group. “ I would like to take the opportunity to thank Andreas Maierhofer, who has successfully served on the Board of Mobiltel since 2007 and for his contribution to the success of Telekom Austria Group where he has been serving in our executive team for the past 10 years. Furthermore, I would like to thank Martin Lippautz, who has held several management positions within the Telekom Austria Group over the past 8 years showing sustained commitment. I wish them all the best for their future careers”, continued Ametsreiter.
