The Telekom Austria Group (VSE: TKA, OTC US: TKAGY) announces that the Supervisory Board of the Telekom Austria Group unanimously elected Günther Ottendorfer as new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) during an extraordinary meeting today. The existing Management Board consisting of CEO Hannes Ametsreiter und CFO Hans Tschuden will thus be enhanced by a third member.
Günther Ottendorfer will take up his position as CTO of Telekom Austria Group in the coming months. His exact starting date is dependent on the termination of his current employment contract. His initial term of office will run for 3 years with an option for extension by another 2 years.
Günther Ottendorfer has had a successful international career in the telecommunication sector lasting over 20 years. From 1987 to 1992 the Austrian-born Günther Ottendorfer studied IT at the Technical University of Vienna and was awarded a distinction upon completion of the degree. 1996 he became a founding member of mobile operator max.mobil in Austria. He gained considerable management experience as COO and CTO for T-Mobile Austria, as CTO for T-Mobile Germany and as European Technology Director at Group level for T-Mobile International. Since March 2011 Günther Ottendorfer has been a Board Member of Optus Singtel, Australia’s second largest telecommunications provider with over 11 million customers. At Optus he holds responsibility for mobile, fixed, cable-TV and satellite network infrastructure and as such manages 2,000 employees. In addition, he spearheaded
the introduction of LTE which Optus pioneered as one of the first providers globally, and initiated several successful optimisation and restructuring programmes.
