Strong Q3 2021: Growing Service Revenues in all Markets, Outlook raised

Thomas Arnoldner, CEO of A1 Telekom Austria Group, on the highlights of the third quarter of 2021:

"We closed the third quarter of 2021 with another strong performance, with service revenues growing across all segments. The solid trends of previous quarters continued, with roaming revenues slowly returning due to increased travel, but at the same time well below pre-Covid levels.

In the third quarter, we continued to benefit from strong demand for mobile Wi-Fi routers, high bandwidth products and digital business solutions. Ongoing efficiency improvements also contributed to the positive result.

Group revenues in the third quarter grew by 5.5% and service revenues grew by 6.2%. Group EBITDA adjusted for restructuring expenses increased by 8.4%. Net result for the third quarter was EUR 181.0 million, significantly higher than the previous year.

Based on the strong operational trends, we are raising the outlook for the full year 2021 and now expect a group total revenue growth of 3-4%.

With our digital infrastructure, which we are rapidly expanding, business and society can successfully exploit the potential of digitalization. In this way, we are creating the basis for innovation and are a key enabler for a green and digital transformation."

Alejandro Plater, COO of A1 Telekom Austria Group, adds:

"In terms of EBITDA growth, there was a very positive development in the third quarter both in Austria with a 5.0% increase (excluding restructuring) and in the CEE markets with growth of 11.3%.

The number of mobile customers increased by 5.2% year-on-year in the third quarter due to high demand for WiFi routers, more contract customers and more M2M subscribers. Fixed-line RGUs remained stable year-on-year.

In Croatia, 5G frequencies were auctioned off in summer. By this the majority of the 5G spectrum auctions in our footprint have already been completed and the 5G roll-out in the markets as well as the roll-out of our fixed broadband infrastructure is progressing rapidly."
