Release of 06.09.2022
Data protection is one of the most important tasks to ensure business success and continuity. This is not only because of the huge increase of ransomware attacks. Furthermore, configuration errors or hardware failures can lead to data loss, therefore a trusted backup solution is mandatory for the availability of data.
A1 Telekom Austria Group expands its cyber-security proposition with its strategic partner Acronis, that includes state-of-the-art backup and variety of security controls, in three additional markets of its footprint. Following the successful launch of A1 Cyber Backup in Bulgaria and Austria, the service will now be further available in Slovenia, the Republic of Serbia and North Macedonia.
A1 Cyber Backup is intended for business customers across all segments. It provides protection against loss of data caused by human errors (such as unintentional deletion of files), natural disasters, suboptimal data storage (such as an outdated in the cellar), or malware. The solution combines the intelligence of Acronis secure Backup Solutions and A1´s secure Datacenter storage, professionally maintained and located in Europe, so that in the event of lost or corrupted data, the customer can restore the information from a backup copy.
The second part of the service is cyber protection: advanced and AI-based anti-ransomware and anti-malware security that protects both the backup copy and the live environment of the customer. The services include many automatic data protection features, as well as a user-friendly interface, where all configurations can be easily managed.
Both the backup and the integrated cyber-security features of the service are provided in cooperation with Acronis.
“Individuals and companies around the world are heavily relying on data. Yet the cyber risks to that data don’t stop at a nation’s border. Given the comprehensive and effective approach Acronis uses to develop and deliver its solutions, it is important that all markets including Slovenia, the Republic of Serbia and North Macedonia have access to modern cyber protection. We rely on our partner A1 Telekom Austria Group with their wide and comprehensive presence in the region to reach and protect more businesses”, said Ivan Doudin, Regional Director of Sales for Balkans and Turkey.
Thomas Snor, Security Director A1 Digital: The trend of using decentralized data storages and the huge increase of cyberattacks makes it very important to have an easy to use backup solution with embedded security features in place. With Acronis we found a partner with a state of the art portfolio to serve our customer demands and is a perfect fit in A1's holistic cyber security offering”.
