A1 Group Announces Acquisition of Radio Frequency Spectrum by Subsidiary A1 Croatia for EUR 109 Million

As already anounced, A1 Group continues to manage significant investments in the broadband and 5G expansion in 2023. A further milestone of the corporate strategy is the securement of the ideal spectrum for providing the best user experience in the future in the Croatian market.

„With the acquisition of the spectrum we can even better meet the great challenges and expectations our customers have when it comes to a top class mobile network. Extremely high demands are placed on the reliability of mobile communications systems, as our customers will require large volumes of data to be retrieved simultaneously. Regular investment in the expansion and further development of these high technologies is an indispensable prerequisite for delivering first-class performance“, says Alejandro Plater, COO A1 Group.

The chairman of the board of A1 Croatia, Jiří Dvorjančanský, emphasizes that the company has once again confirmed that it is ready to invest significant funds in the development of telecommunications networks and advanced digital services in Croatia: "We have always been committed to the further development of globally competitive high-performance networks, digitization and the progress of Croatia according to the Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI). After the investment in the spectrum, our next step are new significant investments in technology, i.e. modernization and development of new generation networks. Our strategy is to use all radio frequencies in the future as a 5G standard in order to support the best user experience and ensure maximum availability, reliability and security for both our private and business customers."

These long-term resources (spectra in the frequency bands of 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2600 MHz) running for a period of 15 years, will be the basis for further growth, maximum national coverage and help meet the requirements of the Digital Agenda for Europe.
