Strong Q2 2021: Revenue and EBITDA increase in all markets

Thomas Arnoldner, CEO of A1 Telekom Austria Group, on the highlights of the second quarter of 2021:
"In the second quarter, we again underpinned our solid operational development with rising revenue and EBITDA figures. We continue to see growing demand for high bandwidth products, mobile WiFi routers and enterprise digitalization projects. Increasing relaxations of travel restrictions have also led to a slow increase in roaming again.
Group revenues in the second quarter grew by 6.4% and service revenues grew by 3.9%. Group EBITDA adjusted for restructuring expenses increased by 8.1%. Net result for the second quarter was EUR 125.0 million, significantly higher than the previous year.

With our digital infrastructure, which we are rapidly expanding, we are laying the foundation for accelerated digitalization in many areas and are a key enabler for a green and digital transformation."

Alejandro Plater, COO of A1 Telekom Austria Group, adds:
"We again benefited from the successful strategy execution in terms of monetizing our attractive product and service portfolio as part of the digital transformation, as well as ongoing efficiency improvements.
In the second quarter, mobile subscribers increased by 5.3% year-on-year, with growth in almost all markets. Fixed RGUs declined slightly by 0.5% year-on-year, with strong demand for bandwidth upgrades and TV.

In terms of EBITDA growth, there was a very positive development in the second quarter both in Austria with a 4.5% increase (excluding restructuring) and in the CEE markets with 11% growth.
In addition, our investment levels continued to accelerate, driven by the 5G rollout in the markets and the expansion of our fixed broadband infrastructure."
