A1 Telekom Austria Group and Qroam sign agreement for more efficient roaming negotiations

Austria’s leading telecommunications company, A1 Telekom Austria Group, and the Dutch-based roaming platform Qroam have announced the signing of an agreement for roaming. The partnership was initiated by the A1 Group Wholesale Team.

The Qroam platform lets mobile operators contact other operators worldwide to negotiate wholesale conditions for voice, SMS and data traffic. In future, operators and MVNOs will be able to set up their 2G-, 3G-, 4G-, M2M- and LTE roaming contracts online, eliminating the need to invest valuable time and resources in negotiations.

“Our expectation as the Wholesale Roaming Team of the A1 Group is that the Qroam platform will help all the companies in the Group to conclude contracts and to improve our coverage with discount agreements. The Qroam platform will further support our efforts to achieve new and more efficient ways of working. This is also necessary because nowadays we have a greater number of small and medium-sized roaming partners”, says Markus Thausing-Aichberger, Head of Wholesale Roaming, A1 Telekom Austria Group.

Qroam is the first online trading platform with which mobile operators can reach attractive roaming agreements in a more efficient and automated way. Since the beginning of the year, Qroam’s services have been available in more than 50 countries.
