A1, the Austrian subsidiary of A1 Telekom Austria Group, is the first telecommunications provider in Austria and in Europe to digitalize its entire payment process in the stores and therefore to dispense with printed invoice receipts.

With the start-up warrify, which has been based at the A1 Start-up Campus since 2020, long paper printouts that quickly fade, wallets overflowing with printed invoices, and a confusing paper trail at home are a thing of the past for all shoppers in the A1 Shops across Austria. Even the search for old invoices in the event of an exchange, complaint or warranty question has come to an end. All invoices and purchase receipts are now available in digital form as a fully-fledged replacement for paper purchase receipts.

By digitalizing the invoice receipt in the A1 stores, A1 is not only setting a milestone, but also sending a signal to the environment: Electronic filing is available at all times, which saves energy and paper, digitalization ensures that the quality of the invoice remains the same as on the first day, and the company uses fewer resources. With this step, A1 is creating real added value for its customers and driving the digitalization of the customer journey even further forward.

The digitalized payment process pays into the A1 Group sustainability strategy, where it promotes more efficient, resource-conserving and thus more sustainable ways of working and living.

warrify Benefits

  • Availability: Electronic storage allows access to invoices at any time, no matter when and where they are needed. No annoying searching or forgetting the receipt
  • For the sake of the environment - the environmental concept in figures: The electronic invoice document saves energy & paper and reduces CO2 emissions. No printout also means less hardware requirements (printer, toner, etc.). If all paper receipts were issued digitally, that would be four tons of CO2 per year or - if you stacked the paper - 1,061 Danube towers.
  • No fading: Electronic invoice documents do not fade, so the quality of the document always remains as it was on the first day. No matter how often it is used or opened.

At the explicit request of the customer, the receipt can of course continue to be issued in the traditional paper form.

No need for customer registration in advance
Customers who receive a Warrify receipt for the first time can register free of charge and create an archive for their receipts. This archive allows online access to all receipts from any device. Customers who do not register can save the invoice digitally locally on their smartphone.
