This week, Telekom Austria Group's Sustainability Report won once again the much-coveted Austrian Sustainability Reporting Award (ASRA) in the category "large companies". Last year's sustainability report was also awarded this renowned prize. The main objective of this award is to promote the trend in Austrian sustainability reporting towards compliance with international standards, while bringing innovative reports into the spotlight.

According to the jury's assessment, the Telekom Austria Group succeeded in communicating both the strategy and the materiality matrix in a compelling and transparent manner.

"Receiving this award for the second year in a row demonstrates that we are on the right track with our clear and transparent sustainability reporting and its creative realization," said Petra Gallaun, Head of CSR at Telekom Austria Group and A1.

The ASRA award has been given to the best sustainability reports of Austrian corporations every year since 2000. This prize is awarded by the Austrian Chamber of Public Accountants (KWT) in collaboration with the Austrian Ministry of Life, the Federal Environment Agency, the Federation of Austrian Industries (IV), respACT - austrian business council for sustainable development, the Austrian Economic Chamber (WKO), Oesterreichische Kontrollbank (OeKB) and the Austrian Society for Environment and Technology (OGUT).

"Insights" into Four Main Fields of Action
The award-winning Sustainability Report of the Telekom Austria Group entitled "Insights" and produced in magazine style offers compelling insight into the active and valuable contributions made by the company at the social and environmental level. Transparent disclosure is ensured both in terms of the company's sustainability concept, management and initiatives as well as the management's underlying beliefs. Telekom Austria Group's responsibility concept is characterized by the vision that the greatest possible benefit for society, customers, employees and the environment can be created by organizing the company's core business in a corresponding manner. The four main fields of action "Living Green", "Creating Equal Opportunities", "Providing Responsible Products" and "Empowering People" are presented in a journalistic manner. For the first time ever, expert voices from outside the company have a say in this "sustainability magazine". In his editorial, Franz Josef Radermacher, Member of the Club of Rome and Professor at Ulm University, explains - for instance - why sustainability is not only worthwhile for companies but is also increasingly necessary to gain legitimacy for participation on the markets. Additional expert commentaries are provided by the climate researcher Helga Kromp-Kolb, the neurobiologist Bernd Hufnagl, Berhard Jungwirth from saferinternet.at and Aslan Milla, Senior Partner of PwC Austria, who discusses the current challenges lying ahead and the potential reorientation ("integrated reporting") of corporate reporting.

The Sustainability Report 2013/14 of the Telekom Austria Group meets the requirements of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Guideline G4 for sustainability reports ("comprehensively"), including the Telecommunications Sector Supplement (Pilot Version 1.0).

Telekom Austria Group's core team for the realization of the Sustainability Report comprises Petra Gallaun, Irene Jakobi (CSR) and Maximilian Rabl (Group Communications & Sustainability). Content consulting: PwC. Creative concept, design und production: seso media group
