Thomas Arnoldner, CEO of A1 Telekom Austria Group, on the highlights of the full year 2019:
"The A1 Telekom Austria Group recorded again a strong operating performance for the full year 2019 and successfully continued its growth course. For the first time in 15 years, we have EBITDA growth in all segments for the full year. Revenues increased by 2.9% for the full year, Group EBITDA adjusted for restructuring charges grew by 4.7%. Reported net profit for the full year 2019 increased to EUR 327.4 mn, compared to EUR 243.7 mn in the previous year. Free cash flow excluding spectrum investments also grew significantly by 8.2% in 2019.
The solid development in Austria, growth in CEE as well as operational efficiencies were decisive for the positive development in the full year, as regulatory effects such as the reduction of charges for international EU calls also had to be compensated.
2020 is dominated by 5G and the digital transformation. At the beginning of the year, we put Austria's largest 5G network into operation and launched a trendsetting tariff portfolio. At the same time, we are also laying the foundation for the 5Giganetz, the combination of Austria's largest fiber-optic network and the new 5G mobile communications generation, as we continue to expand our fiber-optic network. In this way, we are creating the basis for digital innovations, the first applications such as campus networks have already been successfully implemented with business customers. All in all, we consider ourselves well equipped for the digital future.“

Alejandro Plater, COO A1 Telekom Austria Group comments on the fourth quarter 2019:
"The fourth quarter was characterized by significant revenue growth of 4.1% and a strong increase in EBITDA excluding restructuring of 8.2%. Growth was again achieved in all markets, with the CEE countries making a significant contribution with a strong 18.2% increase. Free cash flow also rose significantly to EUR 89.4 mn.
We have almost completed our Group-wide single-brand strategy; Serbia will be the last market to implement the rebranding in the course of 2020. This has successfully created a new common identity within the Group.
Besides Austria, 5G will also become an issue in our other markets: Slovenia already has a 5G base station, Bulgaria is testing streaming and gaming as well as robotics and there are 5G trials in Croatia and Northern Macedonia.”
