Release of 30.08.2019

Liechtenstein soon becomes a 100% shareholder of Telecom Liechtenstein AG. A1 Telekom Austria Group sells its 24.9% minority stake

Since 2014, Telecom Liechtenstein AG (TLI) and Mobilkom Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of the A1 Telekom Austria Group (A1TAG), have formed a strategic partnership. The state of Liechtenstein as the majority shareholder holds 75.1% in TLI and Mobilkom Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH 24.9%.

A1TAG is an internationally connected and strongly positioned telecommunications company. Thanks to the services provided over the last five years and the specific know-how of A1TAG, significant synergies could be utilized, in particular through consistent technical expansion of the core network and access to international roaming services at TLI.

Due to the group structure and the investment portfolio of A1TAG, the strategic continuation of this minority stake in TLI is no longer pursued from the point of view of A1TAG. According to the shareholders' agreement, the partnership entered in 2014 provides for an ordinary termination option after five years, which A1TAG now is exercising. The short- to medium-term safeguarding of the services provided by A1TAG will not be affected.

Since the share of A1TAG in Telecom Liechtenstein is a minority interest, it is not fully consolidated in the group result of A1TAG and thus has no impact on Group revenues or A1TAG's operating result (EBIT). Only the pro rata result of TLI is reported in the financial result and thus reported in the group net profit of A1TAG.
The supervisory board of TLI is intensively examining possible strategic cooperation for the company.
